ADAT requirements vary between institutions, and not every postgraduate dental program requires it. Please confirm the requirements of each university or specialty program directly before you apply.
The ADAT consists of 200 multiple-choice questions divided across three main areas.
Foundational biomedical knowledge relevant to advanced dental education and clinical practice.
Application of clinical concepts across major areas of dentistry.
Research interpretation, critical thinking and evidence-based clinical decision-making.
Exam structure is set by the American Dental Association. Confirm current details on the official ADAT website.
